Local nature festive exploration!
Learn about local nature, rewilding and community projects.
Frome Families for the Future, along with other local families, are invited to a nature and festive filled morning at Heal Somerset. We will begin the exploration at 10am with a guided nature walk by local wildlife expert, Nick Patel. The walk will be a muddy one, so pack the wellies! As we squelch through the mud and water, we will learn about the local wildlife and this special rewilding project.
After an hour, we will come inside and warm ourselves up with tea, hot chocolate, and mince pies. There will be nature-themed arts and crafts for the young ones, while the adults can chat to Julia from Heal about future community projects.
About Heal Rewilding: Heal’s name is its vision: heal the land, heal nature, heal ourselves. We raise money to buy land and rewild it, with the aim of creating new spaces for nature in every English county. In 2023, we moved into our first site in Somerset and are so excited to see how the space will combat climate change, boost biodiversity and support people’s wellbeing.
About Nick Patel: Nick is a birder, a conservationist and tour guide for Wilder Skies. He is super passionate about British wildlife and has experience as a warden, walk-leader, eco-communicator and naturalist. Nick now works independently to educate the public on conservation matters whilst showcasing some of the most amazing wildlife the UK has to offer.
About Frome Families for the Future: Frome families for the Future are a group of passinate and active parents and care givers, doing all they can to look after the planet and ensure it's left in a healthy state for future generations.

Parking: Please park in any of the pre-booked parking spaces as these are included in your booking. We will have volunteers in hi-vis to help show you the way.
Don’t go to the postcode address, it’s the wrong house. If you pass the ‘postcode house’ with it on the right, keep going another few hundred metres and you’ll see the entrance for Day Visitor/Tour parking (large barns) on the right. If the postcode house is on the left, you have gone past us! There is no public parking in the main farmyard. If you are lost, please call 01749 684757.
Accessibility: Our site is not yet wheelchair-accessible, unfortunately, but we are working on that! If you are hearing impaired and unable to participate without a BSL translator, please let us know so that we can arrange that. If you use an assistance dog, your dog will be welcome but no other dogs or pets are permitted.
Cancellation: if you can’t make this event anymore, please cancel your ticket so that someone else has the opportunity join!
Covid-19: Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or have a temperature.
